Dorset County Pension Fund have written to our overseas pensioners to verify that our records are correct and pension payments should continue to be made. This acts as an anti-fraud exercise and safeguards the pension fund.
We engaged with Western Union International Bank, part of the Western Union Group, to facilitate this process and have contacted pensioners to advise of the necessary actions required. In essence, this requires a visit to a Western Union Agent location to confirm your identity and that you remain entitled to receive a pension from the Fund. Please note that an alternative process is available should health or location reasons prevent you from visiting a Western Union Agent location.
Final letters will be sent to all overseas pensioners who have not engaged with this project now and in the event of no response, pensions will be suspended in March 2023.
